Description
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing and managing Australia and New Zealand's monthly payroll and all payroll related compliance activities. The Payroll Specialist will need to ensure monthly payroll is paid on the 28th of each month and that all payroll related compliance payments are submitted on time for the 2 Australian and 1 New Zealand entity within ANZ. This includes benefit deductions, taxes and superannuation for employees, while staying compliant with all Statutory, Federal, and State Laws. The Payroll Specialist will report to the Manager, Accounting, Risk and Compliance - ANZ
Essential Functions
Payroll
Manage & guarantee disbursement of 3 entities payrolls, including superannuation and taxes.
Ensures new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions, terminations, and all other changes are updated in the payroll systems
Prepare monthly annual leave and long service leave calculations and journals for upload to SAP S4 Hana for all three entities
Prepare the monthly payroll and compliance related journals for upload to SAP S4 Hana
Ensure timely payment of monthly PAYGW to the regulatory authorities
Prepare termination payment calculations as required and ensure paid within the required statutory timeframe
Conducts the monthly payroll meeting with HR to confirm payroll changes
Develops a strong relationship with HR
Required Qualifications
Qualifications in related discipline is preferred
5 years' experience in Australian Payroll.
Desired Qualifications
Certified Payroll Professional.
SAP/Elmo Payroll experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Expert knowledge of country-specific Payroll Laws and Applications.
Expert knowledge of Human Resources and Payroll industry best practices.
Advanced knowledge of payroll accounting concepts.
Advanced knowledge of payroll systems and software.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines, with meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to solve complex problems, provide detailed insight, and constructive criticism into problems and complex situations.
Ability to communicate clearly and precisely.
