Payroll Officer
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes in compliance with the Fair Work Awards, ensuring accurate and timely payment to external candidates. This role requires a deep understanding of payroll legislation, award interpretation, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Job Description:
Process payroll accurately and on time, in compliance with the Fair Work Awards and other relevant legislation.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in payroll legislation, including tax rates, superannuation requirements, and award rates.
Interpret and apply the Fair Work Awards to ensure all employees are compensated correctly.
Handle payroll queries from external candidates promptly and professionally.
Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records and reports.
Liaise with external stakeholders, as necessary.
Work closely with internal consultants and clients to ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
Weekly invoicing of timesheets processed.
Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Preparation and submission of superannuation reports in line with the statutory requirements.
Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Human Resources, Business, or any related.
Proven experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role, particularly within the recruitment industry.
Strong understanding of the Fair Work Awards and experience in award interpretation.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
