Job Summary:
As the Payroll and Benefits Officer you will play a crucial role in managing and administering all aspects of payroll and employee benefits. You will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintain employee records, and provide comprehensive support in managing employee benefits programs.
Responsibilities:
Process and administer payroll accurately and efficiently, including calculations of salaries, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
Maintain employee records, including time and attendance, benefits, and other relevant information.
Stay updated on federal, state/provincial, and local payroll and tax regulations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and finance departments as required.
Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate and timely onboarding and termination of employees.
Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave management.
Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and deductions, and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
Ensure payroll and benefits data confidentiality and maintain the highest level of data accuracy and security.
Collaborate with external vendors, such as payroll service providers and benefit administrators, to address any related matters.
Assist in developing and implementing payroll and benefits policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably in the automotive industry or a related field.
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in using payroll software and systems.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
