Overview
The Mechanical Engineering Specialist will be responsible for providing expertise in mechanical design and implementation. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles and a track record of successful project execution in the retail or commercial environment.
Responsibilities
Mechanical Systems Design
Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for retail stores, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations, and relevant industry standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical solutions seamlessly into the overall store design.
Project Execution
Provide direct supervision of mechanical works for retail stores, providing technical expertise to ensure project success.
Ensure project timelines are adhered to while maintaining high-quality standards.
Quality Assurance
Implement and uphold quality control processes to guarantee the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems in retail stores.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications.
Technical Documentation
Prepare detailed technical documentation, not limited to mechanical drawings, specifications, BOQs, and reports.
Maintain accurate records of design projects, changes, approvals, and project progress.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to address technical challenges and provide effective solutions.
Act as a technical liaison during project meetings and discussions.
Innovation
Identify and propose innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of mechanical systems in retail environments.
Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Registered Mechanical Engineer (RMeE) license is a requirement. Registered Master Plumber (RMP) certification is an advantage.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on retail or commercial projects.
Strong knowledge of mechanical codes and standards.
Basic understanding of project management principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
Highly organized team player with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in AutoCAD, MSO applications, and other relevant tools.
