The Director of Marketing is a newly created position, reporting directly to the VP of Marketing and an integral part of the marketing leadership team. This role is responsible for the development and delivery of marketing and brand strategies (generating supply and demand).

Responsibilities
Build, lead and support a high-performing and remote marketing team to drive initiatives that support the objectives of the company.
Together with the CMO, VP of Marketing and Brand Creative Manager, lead the development and own the execution of innovative brand and product campaigns that bring to life the Athena brand while also fueling our authority in the marketplace.
Collaborate closely with senior leadership in Marketing (Creative, Social, Communications) and throughout the business (Recruitment and CX) to ensure constant alignment and consistent goal setting.
Plan and implement marketing campaigns and content plans to achieve the goals of the business set in partnership with company leadership.
Oversee all paid and owned communications across all media channels (working in Partnership with the Director of Social Strategy and Engagement).
Plan and implement the overall marketing analytics strategy and communicate data-driven insights regularly to drive success and inform future strategies.
Define quarterly KPIs to track and measure campaigns and channels (including owned assets ie website).
Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies and be accountable for the successful creation and execution of key performance indicators across all marketing activities.
Lead agency/partner vendor relationships where applicable.
Lead marketing partnerships and other growth opportunities to drive quality lead generation.
Collaborate throughout the business to ensure the overall excellence of execution and ultimate success of Athena.
About You
You have succeeded in previous Senior Leadership roles over the last 5-10 years, with 10+ years of experience in three or more areas: marketing strategy; brand strategy; media planning and buying; digital marketing; commercial strategy; data and analytics; employer branding; and creative development.
You are fluent in different types of campaigns, including awareness, lead-gen, engagement, and employer marketing.
You think strategically and are comfortable overseeing and executing multiple projects concurrently.
You have a bias for action and thrive on feedback, always seeking to optimize, improve, and achieve more.
You understand the creative process and how to write exceptional briefs that result in campaign materials to deliver highly effective campaigns.
You have an understanding of measuring data and analytics across key metrics to form Customer Insights to drive performance and achieve measurable value.
You have a deep understanding of consumer psychology, consumer behaviors, and what drives decision-making for different groups of people.
You have proven experience managing a marketing budget and measuring investment returns.
You are a confident and professional communicator, with excellent written and verbal skills and a calm approach under pressure.
You have exceptional interpersonal and collaborative skills and thrive in creating partnerships throughout the business as you possess the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals from different backgrounds.
You are willing to work from home with flexible full-time hours together with our team members who are in multiple geographies.
You are a team player but also an independent self-starter who is hands-on, possesses a strong work ethic and sets an example that others want to follow.
