Our client is a leading Australian architecture firm, seeking a key member for their finance team.
Reporting to the COO, this role is a key position within the company with
a particular focus on Operations and Finance. The Management Accountant
will create, maintain and report accurate financial records, and Project
information efficiently. In addition, you will model the values and
behaviours of the organisation and support the creation of a vibrant and
effective culture.
The successful candidate will have experience working as the management accountant in a professional service/ project management firm.
Key Accountabilities:
Act as a key member of the finance team and work closely with the team to
ensure the obligations under their service level agreements are met.
Maintain and improve the business's systems and processes for operational efficiency in the delivery of customer service excellence.
Support the operational requirements of the organisation including:
... Support and maintenance of Accounts Payable processes including
analysis and data entry.
... Proactive execution of Accounts Receivable processes including
invoicing, timesheet auditing, and debtors' analysis.
... Accurate execution of month end, quarter end and year end duties
including reconciliations and continuous improvement of financial
reconciliation process.
... Timely and continuous improvement of financial reporting
requirements for internal and external parties.
... Development and creation of models and forecasting tools to
support trend analysis, business forecasting and resource planning.
... Preparation of documents for compliance obligations to external
parties not limited to Australia national and state statutory
authorities, industry bodies and insurance providers.
... Management and support of Projects administrative and reporting
duties including time sheet analysis, data entry, reporting and other
administrative requirements.
... Administrative duties including financial process support, filing, and
supporting reception day to day activities.
Maintain and ensure effective adherence of Finance policies, procedures,
and templates:
... Measured by level of compliance and completeness of Finance
policies.
BUSINESS OPERATIONS
Contribute to the marketing and sales activities of the organisation when and as needed.
Adherence, support and contribution to the company's values and culture.
Support the management owhen asked including supporting
of relevant policies, procedures, structures, meetings and the like.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position.
Bachelor's Degree or other equivalent qualification in Accounting
Demonstrate a proven ability to communicate effectively and work
collaboratively with teams of professional staff.
Proficient with Finance policies, processes, and protocols.
Advanced user of excel including pivot tables and analysis functions.
Demonstrated experience with Xero
Proven experience working in the functions of monthly reporting and
reconciliations, modeling, and analysis.
Experience working account receivable, accounts payable, banking, payroll
and finance support functions.
High attention to detail and proven accuracy with dealing with a variety of
information.
Be able to think constructively and identify areas of improvement in finance
systems and financial measures.
Experience working with a multi-location team and with Australian legislative requirements.
Experience with online business systems such as Xero, Workflow Max, and
other Microsoft suite of products.
Be proficient with Apple based products and the management of IT
infrastructure aligned with Apple based products.
