Lead DevOps Engineer
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with developers in supporting new features and services
Use and build tools to monitor site stability and performance
Investigate production issues across services and levels of the stack
Respond to incidents and drive change that prevents the same issue from re-occurring
Document system design and procedures
Working Relationships:
Directly reports to the Technical Leader
Qualification Standards:
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering or any related courses
Experience
At least 3 to 5+ years industry experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering role
Technical Skills:
Hands on experience with IT automation tools like Ansible and Puppet
Strong working experience in Linux administration; Windows administration is a plus.
Strong code/scripting skills, Python experience preferred
Working experience with system and service monitoring tools
Working experience with managing data storage systems as Postgres, Redis and Elasticsearch.
Working experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, and Apache Spark.
Experience with core AWS services EC2, S3, IAM, Route 53, CloudWatch, VPC, etc
Knowledge of best practices related to security, performance, and disaster recovery.
Solid understanding of fundamental technologies like TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS, etc.
Exposure to high performance computing and low latency development
Exposure to test driven development using Jenkins and other continuous integration technologies
Strong software development foundation implementing design patterns, OOP and coding best practices.
Experience in analyzing, profiling and determining bottlenecks to improve reliability and performance.
