Job Title
Junior Financial Reporting Accountant
Job Description Summary
We are looking for Junior Financial Reporting Accountant to support our Controllership team in the successful delivery of legal entity Controllership responsibilities across several business and service lines, ensuring compliance with global policies. This full-time role will enable an individual to understand process and risk across a global firm and provide a high-level exposure to senior leaders, controllers and other key stakeholders globally. The successful candidate will be primarily tasked with managing the preparation, execution and filing requirements of statutory financial statements across our EMEA entities, having a keen eye for detail and a desire to improve processes is critical to the success of the role.
The role has responsibility to ensure processes are manages under local GAAP and will range from managing and overseeing the conversion of management-to-statutory financial statement processes for local country compliance, through to active participation in the review and oversight of key balance sheet account partnering with the core finance teams across EMEA.
Job Description
Core responsibilities:
• Supporting Controllers in internal and external financial reporting activities and maintaining financial control and integrity in line with EMEA Controllership objectives.
• Manage the preparation and integrity of US GaaP to local GaaP trial balance conversion, suitable for key decision support for local audit and compliance requirements.
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts with quality suitable for audit including SOX compliance as well as local auditors as required.
• Partner key business teams across EMEA as required to build key contextual knowledge for local entities being supported.
• Develop suitable governance frameworks to ensure compliance risk is mitigated.
• Work across EMEA and Global finance teams to ensure presentation and disclosure of financial information are fairly represented for statutory financial statement (SFS) filings.
• Support International Treasury and the UK Business on treasury related requests (e.g. FX, cash flow reporting, loan & interest settlement and related reconciliations).
• Operate with a continuous improvement mindset to minimise the cost of SFS production, leverage best practice to standardize across the EMEA region.
• Reconcile key Corporate tax and VAT accounts.
• Present to senior finance leads as required in the support of key balance sheet reviews and analysis.
• Identify and recommend updates and improvements for accounting systems and ongoing process improvements across the EMEA Controllership team for maximum efficiency.
• Support KPMG and local audit needs for both group audits, local statutory audits and general audit enquiries.
• Support Legal entity rationalization projects as required.
• Support process queries with a resolution mindset as well as ad-hoc project support activities commensurate with the role.
Qualifications, Skills, knowledge & experience:
• A newly qualified CPA / ACCA / CIMA accountant with relevant experience in industry or suitably qualified by experience with a degree in Finance & Accounting or other applicable subject.
• 3-5 years experience in Big 4 Accounting firms or industry equivalent.
• Highly motivated with an ability to take ownership and strong attention to detail.
• Reliable and pro-active team player focused on delivering an exceptional service.
• Ability to organize and prioritise workloads whilst working to tight and regular deadlines.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Adaptable and energetic, with ability to work as part of a team, as well as under their own initiative. Ability to work independently, escalating as required.
• A good level of Excel knowledge and experience is essential for analysing data.
• A good understanding of Workday, Hyperion Essbase & HFM is highly desirable.
• Fluent in English, other languages are desirable but not essential.
• Experience working in an outsourced Finance environment would be an advantage

• All finance - Group (US based), EMEA Finance including FP&A, Tax and Controllership & business support.
• In-house legal teams for CoSec support.
• Internal and External Auditors (KPMG)
• Outsourced Finance FSC (Finance Service Centre)
