Job Description
This role is responsible for supporting Quest's global operations supporting internal company and client operations and Service Delivery. The incumbent will also coordinate activities across globally dispersed Quest service delivery centers supporting managed services and professional services. The role will support various server platforms, applications and backup/restore activities working moderately complex tasks, meeting internal and external service level agreements.
Essential RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Perform routine and regularly scheduled maintenance and monitoring tasks.
· Perform installations, integrations, configurations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of various software technologies from multiple vendors.
· Plan and execute server and backup updates to hardware and software.
· Support and respond to service outages impacting company and client hardware or services.
· Support and respond to alerts across server and backup platforms.
· Perform root cause analysis and problem resolution on server and backup platforms.
· Troubleshooting and debugging of physical and virtual systems.
· Define and document standard operating procedures for an operations team.
· Ensure user tickets and monitoring alerts are handled as per pre-defined SLA's for response time, updates and closure.
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to teams on moderately complex issues.
· Respond to Monitoring alerts, incident tickets, and email requests handled by operations.
· Ability to participate in a 24 x 7 operations environment.
· Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
· 4 years of experience working in an enterprise Technical Support Department or Network Operation Center environment performing system administration and system security functions.
· Understanding of Microsoft server and backup management & administration.
· Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory.
· Understanding on backup and recovery standards and operations.
· Understanding of backup platforms such as VEEAM, VEEAM Cloud Connect, Unitrends, or EVault/Carbonite.
· Understanding of backup job creation, restarting, troubleshotting.
· Attention to detail and accuracy and ability to spot long term trends in production environment.
· Ability to clearly document and articulate technical issues.
· Ability to handle multiple concurrent site issues and remain calm under high pressure situations.
· Must be reliable and dependable, self motivated and willingness to learn and contribute to building a successful team.
· Ability to work closely with peers and other operations or engineering teams.
· Local travel may be required for this position.
· Enjoys a challenging yet rewarding environment.
