Job Summary:
The IT Assistant is responsible for ensuring that the company's computer network, including software and hardware, is properly functioning and up-to-date. He/she is in charge of the installation, configuration and maintenance of the computer network system of the organization.
The IT Assistant must perform his/her tasks with urgency to lessen/avoid downtime of the company's computer network system. He/she must be updated in matters concerning information technology, computer servicing and programming.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Install and configure new equipment purchases to the company's computer network system so that the user can begin using it as soon as possible.
Set up computer hardware such as printers, keyboards, routers, modems and other devices and ensure their security and functionality.
Check the company's network for errors, repair malfunctioning devices and troubleshooting of hardware.
Set-up a help desk to answer all inquiries regarding technological problems.
Keep detailed records of the network's configurations, specifications of devices, reported issues regarding network system, solutions to the problems in the computer network system.
Perform other management mandated functions.
Education
Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
Work Experience
Must have at least six (6) months experience in the same capacity. New graduates with at least 200 hours of on-the-job training in the same position are welcome to apply.
Specialized Knowledge
Advanced knowledge in information technology, computer hardware servicing/troubleshooting and programming
Good oral and written communication skills;
