Investment Accounting and Banking Relationship Specialist

Responsible for the overall relationship management with the banks, brokers, dealers, counterparties in coordination with the various internal stakeholders such as Investment, Finance, IT, Legal & Compliance and Operations. Will also handle accounting and control checks during financial statement closing process (monthly, quarterly, annually) including reporting to the management, regional and corporate office and regulators.
Preferred skills (heading) / Compétences particulières (titre)
1. Experience in relationship management.
2. Knowledge and expertise in various accounting standards such as IFRS, Canadian IFRS and Local Statutory Requirements.
3. Knowledge of investment products and instruments and banking products and solutions.
4. Advanced analytical, comprehension and presentation skills.
5. Fluent in English, both in written and verbal communication.
6. Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint and Accounting and Investment Systems

Will chair periodical service review meetings and will be responsible for managing inquiries from internal and external stakeholders including timely resolutions of issues and concerns.
Administers and maintains the accounts of Sun Life Financial Philippines with the banks, brokers, counterparties and custodian including account opening, updating of documents, account closing, user access and modification, and facilitating request from internal stakeholders, external auditors and Insurance Commission.
Accounting and Reporting
Performs accurate and timely accounting and control checks during financial statement monthly, quarterly and yearly closing process in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Canadian IFRS and Local Statutory Requirements. * Prepares various reports being submitted to the management, regional and corporate office, auditors and regulators on a timely manner.
Manages inquiry from the internal stakeholders, auditors and regulators related to the assigned tasks.
Projects * Acts as the main contact person of the bank for various efficiency projects through close coordination with the project sponsors and IT. This includes vendor selection, analysis of related fees and facilitating the agreement.
