Job Summary: The Inventory Audit Specialist/Internal Audit Specialist will be responsible for conducting internal audits of a food distribution company in the Philippines with an emphasis on inventory and internal process audits. This position will work closely with the accounting and operations teams to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute internal audits of the company's inventory and internal processes, including procurement, production, and sales.
Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the company's internal controls related to inventory management and recommend improvements as necessary.
Conduct physical inventory counts and reconciliations to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
Monitor compliance with inventory policies and procedures, such as proper storage, handling, and tracking of inventory.
Conduct audits of production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
Document audit findings, prepare audit reports, and communicate results to management and stakeholders.
Collaborate with other departments to develop corrective action plans to address audit findings and recommendations.
Assist with external audit engagements and regulatory audits as needed.
Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations related to inventory and internal processes to ensure compliance.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with other departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
CPA preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal or external auditing or a related field, with a focus on inventory management and internal processes
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations related to inventory and internal processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented and able to work independently
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Knowledgeable in accounting and tax regulations in the Philippines
Reliable, team player, and with integrity
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a food distribution company or a related industry
Experience with risk management and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO)
Experience with data analytics tools and techniques
Ability to lead and manage audit engagements and teams of auditors
