Performs general ledger (GL) functions of assigned entities/accounts.
Handles and completes month-end closing activities and annual audit requirements.
Prepares and analyzes monthly trial balance/financials before closing of period.
Prepares monthly and quarterly schedules and cleanup of assigned accounts.
Prepares interim and year-end audit requirements.
Prepares GL-initiated journal vouchers (JV) entries and posting of JV entries from other process owners.
Remains familiar with the relevant accounting standards, government or banking regulations, specifically those impacting the activities of assigned entities/clients.
Provides assistance to other team members and management team when required.
Participates in the inter-department cross trainings and deployment to ensure continuity of service.
Works within existing procedures and processes ensuring clear and concise documentation is created and maintained as such procedures and processes evolve over time.
Able to generate new and innovative solutions to complex problems and proposes improvements to processes.
Participates and assists the Manager in the overall attainment of the Financial Reporting Team Service Level Agreements, Key Performance Indicators/Operational Performance.
Ensures strong control environment by upholding compliance standards, internal controls and best practices.
Escalates service issues internally and with external providers to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained.
Delivers a high level of Customer Service through a positive customer focused attitude.
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy/Finance or equivalent
Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
At least 1-2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position
Preferably experienced accountants specializing in Financial Reporting
SAP knowledge is required
Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, V-look ups, macros)
Ability to keep oneself abreast with generally accepted accounting procedures
Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders, particularly Finance Officers and auditors
Excellent communication, analytical & organization skills
Detail oriented coupled with the ability to learn quickly
Ability to work under pressure
