Job Summary
Reporting to the Head of Community, Asia & Eurasia, the incumbent will be a key member of the General Medicines Asia Zone Leadership team and heads the Management Team of Philippines for General Medicines. The incumbent defines and implements short-term and long-term strategies and action plans to develop the presence of the business and to ensure the growth of the activity and profitability of commercial operations in the market.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The scope of duties and responsibilities includes but is not limited to:
Ensure profitability of General Medicines business under his/her geographical scope
Establish and execute short and long-term sales and marketing business plans, budgets and targets for Established Products, Diabetes and Cardiovascular
Develop and execute objectives, strategies, tactics and action plans (OSTA's) for each market and each product type
Monitor and manage execution of the OSTA's and make mid-course corrections as dictated by unfolding events while holding true to the long-term strategy
Manage the Profit & Loss of the market
Optimize portfolio management of existing and pipeline products to drive business growth
Build a positive external image of the company
Establish the necessary business relationships with relevant key opinion leaders (KOL), clinicians, hospital administrators, patient advocacy groups and government officials (registration, pricing, tendering, policy makers, etc.)
Develop and maintain professional relationships with other related entities, such as distributors, strategic alliance partners and potential acquisitions
Drive and manage an operational efficient organization with the objective of optimizing collaborators' performance and the financial results of the structure
Establish rules and procedures to ensure the efficient management of the team
Maintain close collaboration with internal stakeholders
Establish and build effective working relationships within the General Medicines Asia Zone, with the various BUs and functions, and with colleagues at corporate HQ
Work closely with BU and functional counterparts to ensure strategy is aligned and that existing global collateral materials, business models and best practices are leveraged
Provide input and support to General Medicines Asia Management Team and leverage on the support functions at the larger group context
Develop team members and build superior working culture
Build, develop, motivate, reward, retain and lead a competitively superior world class team
Engage team members to ensure delivery of superior business performance
Build capabilities of team members for current and future roles
Ensure talent management across GBUs
Coordinate and ensure the right resource allocation across each GBUs and the right reflection of that in the P&L
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements of each market
Ensure compliance to the group's Code of Conduct and Policies and to each market's regulatory requirements
Build an efficient and lean organization
Drive and manage an operational efficient organization with the objective of optimizing collaborators' performance and the financial results of the structure
Establish rules and procedures to ensure the efficient management of the team
Education Qualification
Essential: Minimum a Bachelor's degree, ideally in a Science technical discipline
Desirable: Postgraduate degree in business management, or MBA in an internationally established institution
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
Minimum of 10 years working experience in management positions in the healthcare industry, with a minimum of 15 years overall business experience
Knowledge of the local government bureaucracy and government mechanics with regards to the healthcare sector, such as policy, pricing and reimbursement
Desirable
Broad and extensive experience working in Philippines/Asia, with a deep understanding of the Philippines culture and Asia business and social environment
