Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide support to the entire estimating staff on preconstruction and bid efforts with quantity take-offs and bid review
- Responsible for providing complete quantity take-off, analysis, and estimate, and studies for all deliverables involved in the assigned scope
- Identify design and constructability issues and analysis to determine constructability
- Define more cost-efficient alternatives to the proposed scope of project
- Act as a connection between subcontractors, design team (architects, engineers, consultants), and client
- Responsible for preparing and assembling bids and proposals for various contract types
- Determine required but non-indicated scope through the analysis of site conditions and all contract documents (plans specifications, etc.)
- Perform an assessment on subcontractor proposals to ascertain if the scope is covered and also manage the risk of scope gaps
Required Experience
- 3 years minimum combined work experience in building construction and estimating
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction related field
Proficient with
- MS Office (Word, Outlook)
- Skype
- On-Screen Take-Off (OST)
- BluBeam
- Box
A Successful Candidate must have
- Familiarity and/or experience with the following software programs a plus: BIM (Building Integration Method) & Revit by Autodesk, Primavera, Sure Trak, or other scheduling programs
- Familiarity with the Construction Specification Institute (CSI) Master Format
- Familiarity with the Uniform Building Code (UBC), International Building Code (IBC), and International Code Council (ICC)
- Familiarity with different types of building construction (i.e.Type I; II; III; IV; V)
- Familiarity with the different types of estimating formats (by Trade; by Division and Systems or Assembly)
- Ability to identify construction trades involved and/or required on a project
