Your team responsibilities
The ESG Controversies team of MSCI provides assessments of ESG controversies involving the impact of company operations and/or products and services that allegedly violate national or international laws, regulations, and/or commonly accepted global norms. Controversies team monitor company, government, media, and NGO sources to uncover new and update existing controversies. ESG Controversies covers publicly traded companies and fixed income issuers.
As Projects Senior Associate, you will be responsible for leading and delivering on several initiatives as part of the Controversies' ESG transformation agenda, to support rapidly evolving ESG landscape and its adoption in the financial market. This involves automating some legacy manual processes involving data collection, Controversies' report processing, defining new workflows, and Quality Assurance process. Further, you are responsible for Lead planning and execution pipeline for the overall Controversies' projects initiatives.

Your key responsibilities
As a member of Controversies team, you are expected to have a strong interest in process transformation, specifically on automation of processes and workflow improvements. Following are the key responsibilities:
Evaluate and implement industry leading QA practices on both data and content, re-engineer quality assurance and quality control processes including working on effectively tracking vendor data quality
Undertake projects to improve the data workflow, QA processes, Vendor data onboarding and ensure that these are executed in line with Controversies initiatives
Evaluate re-engineering opportunities by analyzing existing process and systematically identify manual/off-system tasks and processes bottlenecks, create process maps as specifications for BA/IT
Lead and manage projects initiatives working with Controversies' data collection and content teams & collaboration with BA/Project Management, Technology & Data Science teams
Participate and shape discussions on scaling & transforming operations, process changes, business priorities and client expectations
Identify opportunities of leveraging ML/NLP for unstructured data extraction, high frequency data (news sources), quality enhancement
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
A Bachelor's degree with relevant experience required in one of these areas: Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics
Experience with Python based automation tools and frameworks.
Exposure to Python and basic data analysis techniques and tools - Excel, libraries like numpy/ pandas, SQL/.
Expert in complete software project lifecycle - Requirement definition, Scoping and execution.
Minimum 3 years relevant experience in data quality and automation related roles.
Demonstrated experience in improving process/Automation through applications of Python/ML/RPA
Work exposure with any of the visualization tools such as PowerBI, Matplotlib, R gg plot and advanced excel features would be an advantage.
Hands on project experience analyzing existing process and reengineering.
Analytical skills and has strong attention to details - Should have keen interest in analyzing data, process flows and quality focused
Excellent communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people in different offices and time zones
Comfortable working in a team environment across hierarchies, functions, and geographies
Experience working on process improvement and project management is preferred.
