Job Description:Join a collaborative and growth-focused electrical engineering team delivering high-quality switchboard and control system designs. You'll use AutoCAD Electrical to develop precise drawings and documentation, working closely with engineers and project teams to meet Australian and New Zealand standards.
Prepare detailed single-line diagrams, wiring layouts, and electrical schematics based on engineering inputs and site redlines.
Develop and maintain electrical drawings for low-voltage systems, including main switchboards, motor control centres (MCCs), distribution boards, and control panels using AutoCAD Electrical.
Produce control panel layouts and as-built documentation aligned with engineering specifications and company standards.
Ensure all drawings comply with Australian/New Zealand electrical standards, wiring rules, and internal QA procedures.
Work closely with the Engineering Team, Project Managers, and the Switchboard Manufacturing Team.
Maintain accurate version control and manage drawing updates throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist in developing and maintaining standard design libraries, templates, and symbols.
Support quality assurance by ensuring documentation accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all projects.
Participate in process and continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering function.
Contribute to effective document control within established systems.
Identify and help mitigate risks in electrical design and documentation.
Perform other role-specific duties as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position.
Proven professional experience using AutoCAD Electrical.
Strong background in electrical drafting and detailing, including single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and control panel layouts.
Experience in commercial or industrial electrical systems, switchboards, or automation/control environments.
Sound understanding of relevant Australian/New Zealand wiring and drawing standards.
Familiarity with quality and risk management processes.
Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
