As a Database Administrator, you are the main person in maintaing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server database services.
The specifc duties and responsibilities of a DBA revolves around the following:
1. Operates and maintains Microsoft SQL Server database services; performs installation, troubleshooting, patching, upgrade, backup and restore databses, creates database files, user accounts and transaction logs.
2. Supports application developments such as migrating legacy system, creating adhoc reports, performing tuning and optimization, providing technical guidance and recommendations.
3. Manages and performs system deployment to production environment.
4. Creates and submits regular database health check reports.
5. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
6. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
7. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in IT as MSSQL Server database administrator
Preferably has industry certification such as Microsoft certification
With strong problem-solving skill
With good oral and written communication and presentation skills
Able to deliver quality output even in demanding situations
Team player
Amenable to work on shifting schedule and holidays
Highly adaptable to hybrind work arrangement
Must have experience in the following:
Relational database management system specifically MSSQL database
In using SQL Server Management Studio
Performance Tuning and Optimization
Database Mirroring and Log Shipping
Strong knowledge of T-SQL scripting, third party tools, and transaction monitoring
Database design and SQL development
Service Broker, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
Proficiency in Windows and Linux
