We are looking for Data Migration Specialists to plan and execute data migration activities as part of our implementation projects. Data Migration Specialists will work within the Professional Services team, which is responsible for transitioning customers onto our cloud-based platform, Instafin, and which has a growing customer base in the Philippines. The successful applicant will exhibit the necessary dedication to become a data migration expert and will thrive under pressure.
Oradian's Data Migration Specialists oversee the end-to-end data migration process on implementation projects. They analyse the customer's system and data, work with the customer's IT team on developing a procedure to extract and transform the data, and then create a data migration plan that describes all of the activities of data migration, who does what, and in what span of time.
Data Migration Specialists will often need to write code to do data extraction and transformation in a language such as Python but some customers may be able to manage this process on their own. Regardless, the data migration process is a collaboration between the Data Migration Specialist and the customer's own IT team, and the Data Migration Specialist will be responsible for the planning and execution of data migration activities with the customer.
The successful applicant should be not only technically skilled in SQL and Python but should also possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to plan and work according to a set schedule, and a willingness to work within a team. Data Migration Specialists must work with the Oradian implementation team to achieve project success and must also work with the customer to achieve a clear division of responsibility for all tasks that are part of the data migration process.
Responsibilities:
Developing expert-level knowledge of Instafin's data migration functionality
Writing scripts in Python to facilitate automated and repeatable data migration procedures
Training the customer's IT team on data extraction and migration procedures as needed
Documenting and communicating minimum data cleanliness standards for customers
Executing data migration activities according to plan
Qualifications:
At least one year of experience in back-end development or data science
Degree in computer science, statistics, economics, or related field
Experience working with databases, especially in SQL, and managing and cleaning large datasets
Proficiency in one or more programming languages, Python strongly preferred
Core banking implementation and/or ETL experience a plus
