BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF ROLE
The UFS Data Engineer will focus on developing, designing, & optimizing current data systems in order to make data available, consistent, and seamless for analysis. He/she will extract, collect, cleanse, process data - whether structured or not from multiple sources and store them in data warehouses for anyone with clearance to access. He/she will design, build, and sustainably refresh data flows while ensuring optimal security and recoverability to match the needs of the stakeholders in sales, marketing, operations, etc. The data engineer will also be responsible in creating pipelines for analysts to create predictions and strategical plans for the organization. He/she will drive operational data efficiency for the organization. Key functionalities for the role include but are not limited to:
Data clean up
ETL process
Data set extractions
Cloud Architectural Data flow management
UDL migrations
Platform Integration
Transformation Scripts
Database & Repositories Management
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor degree holder in BS Information Technology or any related technical course (open to fresh graduates)
Must have strong knowledge and skills in SQL and Python
Data & Web service integration
Understanding on data warehouses and data lakes and how they work
Familiarity with Business intelligence (BI) platforms (power BI, Tableu)
Knowledge with Azure Databricks & Power Query
Has passion for data engineering and data management
Amenable for an initial fixed-term contract (with possibility of absorption)
