Under direction of the Director, Regulatory Systems, the Regulatory Specialist will perform work reviewing and analyzing Health and Human Services (HHS) clinical and revenue cycle requirements and state regulations where Tenet's acute care facilities reside. Responsibilities will include assisting in the validation of the data elements and data sources required for the calculation of the objectives and measures necessary to meet The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Promoting Interoperability Program and selected additional measures as defined by Tenet. Job activities for this role include:
Ensure data quality through data analysis and investigation of data disparities
Create and maintain documentation of program compliance audit materials, reports, and training materials
Perform quality assurance assessments on all evidence prepared by the hospital in preparation for attestations
Evaluate clinical system workflows, documentation, and reports for compliance within the regulatory requirements
Assist in the archiving of attestation documents and the preparation of documents to support audit and hardship requirements
Regulatory Research
Assist in the review of healthcare regulations, rules and standards to assess impact
Examples: CMS Inpatient Prospective Payment System rules, ONC Certification rules, HL7 standards, Value Set Authority standards
Compare and contrast vendor interpretations and design with rules and regulations
Detailed oriented
1+ year experience working with a global team
Knowledge of Cerner model workflows and relational database strongly preferred
Ability to think critically and work through challenges
1 + year experience in analyzing health data and managing data quality
Experience reading and interpreting regulatory rules and documents preferred
Proficient with MS office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint and Teams)
Candidate must be able to demonstrate good time management, project management, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
Proven ability to communicate with and understand the needs of internal clients
