Job Description:
Department Summary:
The Legal Entity Controller (LEC) team is responsible for accurate and complete legal entity financial reporting, regulatory financial reporting and management financial reporting. LEC is also responsible to contribute to the maintenance and protection of the capital of the entity including liquidity and risk considerations.
Job Objectives:
Performs legal entity control functions which cover local regulatory and Head Office reporting and maintenance of the financial books/general ledger in compliance with both local and US GAAP requirements and LEC control standards. Provides accounting and regulatory advices to the various Lines of Business (LOBs) as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Handles regulatory reporting to comply with local regulators' requirements [e.g., Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Philippine Deposit Insurance Commission (PDIC)]
Handles and monitors compliance to various local regulatory ratios
Coordinates with Corporate Reporting hub team on Head Office (HO) reporting functions and other processes handled by hub team.
Reviews the General Ledger to ensure accuracy and understands business drivers behind the trend variances
Provides support to the lines of business on any new business undertakings as well as understands the financial impact of those new business undertakings
6. Provides assistance in resolving any accounting and regulatory concerns.
7. Keeps abreast with changes in internal corporate accounting policies and coordinates with relevant parties to ensure compliance.
8. Keeps abreast with changes in local regulations, identifies impact, and works with relevant teams to ensure compliance.
9. Liaises with regulators and external auditors.
10. Assists in Corporate Tax reporting requirements, if necessary
11. Participates in local, regional and global meetings.
12. Leads and/or participates in system enhancements and development projects and other control enhancement related projects
14. Actively supports team's activities and able to come up with ideas for betterment of the team
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
2. CPA preferred
3. Minimum 5 years experience in related position
4. Strong analytical, communication and management skills
5. Team-oriented and ability to work under pressure
6. Ability to learn new financial systems quickly
7. Highly disciplined
8. Flexible
