Job Description
This position will be working within our expanding ecommerce development team architecting, improving, building and testing features on our current and future web applications. We are looking to recruit a passionate, engaged and ambitious mid-weight software developer to deliver against our ecommerce strategy and roadmap. You will work within a team environment using Agile development methodologies amongst other practices.
The development team work within a Microsoft environment using C# with Visual Studio and SQL Server. Projects range from small integrations to highly complex tasks that directly impact on website functionally, our systems and processes, and ultimately our customers' experiences.
Our developers are expected to build an understanding of key company departments including marketing, product management, operations and systems in order to deliver an effective ecommerce platform.
Skills & Experience
Either minimum of 3-years commercial experience within a ecommerce business, preferably within the retail industry
OR 2-years commercial experience within a fast-paced tech start-up alongside a related university degree.
Must have experience with unit testing.
Experience in working within an Agile software development environment, using Git for source code management.
Experience using latest Microsoft technologies (.NET Core/ .NET Standard)
Experience of object orientated design and related design patterns (including MVC).
Experience and an outstanding ability to develop web-based applications in a Windows environment using .NET, C# and SQL Server.
Demonstrable knowledge of web security, systems analysis, design, coding and testing.
Experience with Microservices
Experience developing for and maintaining SQL database.
Demonstrable knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Contribution to open source projects a bonus
Bonus points for experience working with ecommerce subsystems: logistics, BI, WMS, ERP.
An understanding of web servers and their related technologies is a bonus: including cloud hosting platforms, DNS management and CDNs.
Ideally experience with TDD
Worked in a DevOps environment before

Working with stakeholders and project leads to identify needs, and then work on a solution.
Support, maintenance and continued improvement of web and business applications.
Drive further acceptance of Agile methodologies and SCM systems throughout the team.
Challenge, innovate and champion the use of new technologies and best practises.
Delivery and responsibility for the SDLC of our ecommerce systems against our development strategy and roadmap.
Qualifications

Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
