Independent Contractor arrangement
Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an "Independent Contractor", the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will also be accountable for handling their taxes and benefits independently. The salary is calculated and offered on an hourly basis.
Responsibilities
Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Xero accounting software.
Invoicing and Receipts: Process invoices, payments, and receipts promptly, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Tax Compliance: Apply knowledge of US, UK, and Australian tax regulations to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting and submissions.
Financial Reporting: Generate financial reports, summaries, and statements as needed, presenting information in a clear and understandable manner.
Expense Tracking: Monitor and categorize expenses appropriately, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
Communication: Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to address financial inquiries and provide necessary information.
Problem Solving: Identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and errors in financial records and work to resolve them effectively.
Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in bookkeeping procedures.
Audit Preparation: Assist with financial audits by providing accurate documentation and information as required.
Requirements
Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience: 4-5 years of proven bookkeeping experience, ideally in a multi-country setting.
Software Proficiency: Expertise in using Xero accounting software is essential.
Tax Knowledge: A good understanding of US, UK, and Australian tax regulations and reporting requirements.
Reconciliation Skills: Strong ability to reconcile invoices, receipts, and financial statements accurately.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
Organization: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Communication: Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
