Job Title: Associate Tax Accountant (CA/US)
Work Setup & Schedule:
Hybrid (Mon-Fri, 4PM to 1AM)
What you'll be doing:
Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex U.S. tax concepts
Preparing U.S. Federal and state income tax returns for individuals
Preparing U.S. Federal and state income tax returns for business entities
Litigation support including representation to the taxation authorities and preparation of appeals
Develop recommendations and implementing tax plans by preparing tax analysis and memoranda in collaboration with other tax professionals
Assist with research for U.S. consulting mandates
Providing clients and partners with quality, timely and responsive services
Keeping informed of changing U.S. tax laws and effectively applying tax knowledge to files while remaining thorough and accurate
Developing practical and business-oriented approaches to the client's tax situation and arriving at appropriate conclusions
Contributing to the development and execution of the firm's business plan
What will make you a great fit:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting
U.S. CPA or Canadian CPA designation would be an asset, but not mandatory
Relevant work experience in a public accounting firm, an asset
One (1) to Two (2) years experience in U.S. tax compliance
Ability to work within a varying work schedule and within required budgets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English, French would be an asset)
Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Experience with Thomson Reuters GoSystems and CaseWare, an asset
