Position Overview
The Associate Systems Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and administration of system and services that support the Managed Services Operations. Your responsibilities will revolve around coordinating with different departments to determine their needs, devising and implementing solutions. You will play a vital role in ensuring that the technology infrastructure of internal and external clients runs smoothly and efficiently, alongside with the group of engineers within our department. You will also be responsible for adding, removing and modifying device configurations within our monitoring solutions. The position also includes junior level administrating our Identity Access Management solutions.
What you'll do at Insight
The Associate Systems Engineer will be responsible for administrating systems and services that support the Managed Services Operations which includes monitoring tools, identity management systems, remote management solutions and infrastructure. The tools include ScienceLogic, Single Sign On solution, nCentral Remote Management Tools, ServiceNow, Netapp HCI, Azure, AWS, Cisco switches and Cisco firewalls.
Takes ownership of incidents and requests that relate to job duties and completes them within the required timeframe. This includes adding new configurations, troubleshooting, and decommissioning.
Acts as a resource person for other teammates in resolving incidents and other requests.
Communicates with internal and external customers via chat, phone or email to effectively cascade information as needed.
Creation of some technical documentations and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
What you'll need to join Insight
General Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or any IT related 4-year course.
At least 3 years of experience in general IT network administration, remote troubleshooting, ITSM ticketing and other related IT services experience.
Able to thrive in an environment characterized by rapidly changing requirements and an ongoing focus on meeting operational objectives
Strong written and verbal English communications skills
Able to self-direct and work independently and with our teammates across the world
Able to successfully manage multiple priorities
Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Strong commitment to company values and operating principles
Technical Requirements:
General networking knowledge and troubleshooting
Knowledge and experience supporting (3 or more years) of Windows Server 2016 or newer and Linux Operating Systems
One year Powershell experience
Demonstrates experience with Hypervisor Administration
One year Administration of IAM/SSO System
One or more years of hands on experience with configurating SNMP, Syslog, and WINRM.
Basic cloud administration experience with such solutions as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud (optional skillset)
Familiarity with ITSM concepts and experience with ticketing system.
Experience working with remote access tools and understanding of security protocols compliance.
Preferred
Industry recognized certifications. CCNA, Microsoft technology certificates (MTA/MCSA), ITIL
Experience supporting or working in an Enterprise and/or Global Managed Services environment.
