EMAPTA Versatile Services is looking for a high-level Accountant / CPA to join its team in Makati.

We seek a motivated, self-directed finance professional with strong spoken & written English to join our team.
ROLE FEATURES
As a Graduate, your main role is to deliver and complete accounting, tax or superannuation tasks as instructed by senior members of the team
Key Responsibilities
Technical (60% of the time)
Assist senior staff with Superannuation / Accounting / Tax activities and develop these skills over time. Complete tasks after instruction and under supervision
Complete all core tasks as listed out on Process Management Platform (PMP) or other workflow tools after instruction and under supervision
Process Management/Administration (15% of the time)
Complete all standard administration tasks and additional tasks as instructed and in a timely manner
Activities include: timesheet completion, support HLB staff as instructed and updating PMP
Self-Management (15% of the time)
Maximise own time to complete assignments and to achieve agreed performance goals
Activities include: Manage own workflow/review hours spent against budget/expectations, job clarification, inform/follow up senior staff about work progress
Self-development (10% of the time)
Develop working knowledge of accounting concepts
Activities include: attend all training as required/organised by the firm, self-educate where a job demand skills and knowledge in an unknown area and with assistance of firm's resources, ensure adequate knowledge of relevant software
Key Skills Required
Qualifications:
Degree from a recognised university (preferably accounting degree), CPA license holder an advantage
Experience:
No professional experience essential, experience in any work environment desirable
Generic competencies:
Professionalism by being respectful, patient, tolerant, and responsible to all staff, clients and members of the public; maintain a professional appearance at all times
Communication skills to express thoughts clearly, both orally and in writing to staff at all levels of seniority & to external parties as instructed; business writing with excellent spelling and grammar
Key competencies:
Follow instructions by ensuring the understanding of requirements and due dates of assigned tasks; find a balance between trying to solve a problem with minimal instruction/unassisted and seeking supervision to remain efficient and cost-effective; evaluate effectiveness of own actions after completing demanding tasks
Action orientation by taking initiative and originating action to get things done; build up the ability to work more and more unsupervised
Quality orientation by knowing about and complying with the firm's quality standards; pay attention to detail; develop effective self-review procedure to reduce senior's review time.
Analysis, judgement and problem solving to be able to define problems, break them down into component parts, define goals, conduct research, and suggest systematic and rational decisions based on relevant information
