Senior Professional Server Administrators in this role get to:
Be the Expert: be in charge of the administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system; updating of agent scripts, responding to alerts, monitoring dashboards, and conducting periodic system review. Monitor and respond to Critical / warning system alerts. System documentation and consulting services to include system reviews and recommendations. Develop and deploy scripts, routines, software, and processes that create proactive solutions to technical issues. Manage systems that are used to provide support to clients such as remote control, information gathering, etc.
Be the Point of Contact: assist users with software, hardware, and connectivity issues. Serve as escalation resource for other technicians.
Impact the Bottom Line: document maintenance for all computer systems and network infrastructure. Review internal documentation and tickets to identify trends and develop recommendations on how to resolve recurring or chronic issues.
Strengthen Relationships: communicate with clients as required, keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages.
Enable and Guide: monitor, coach, and teach other technicians.
Experience in IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications, Operating Systems both desktop and Server (Windows, Linux, AWS), Active Directory, DNS, Exchange, Office 365 platforms both hosted and on premise, as well as virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V)
Knowledge on Azure / Amazon Cloud technologies
Knowledge in Enterprise Anti-Virus, Alert Monitoring Systems, Backup Software, and proactive RAID degradation management
Strong verbal and written communication skills; be able to communicate in a clear, constructive, and professional manner
Strong analytical skills
A high school diploma with a 4-year degree in any discipline
Good knowledge of PCI controls / requirements / Audits
Have knowledge on Window server 2008 and above
Have basic knowledge on SCCM and SCOM; Skype for Business
Have strong administration and trouble shooting skills
Be customer-oriented in managing communications and issues
Have good Troubleshooting skills on Server OS, Microsoft applications
Have knowledge on Exchange 2010 / 2013; Active Directory 2012 / 2016
Be creative and resourceful in finding effective solutions to problems and situations
Have knowledge on Websense; Server hardware /Storage installation and configuration
Be persistent in working through challenges and doing whatever it takes to get the job done
Have strong analytical skills; be able to interpret data, identify trends, and make suggestions for improvements
Be pro-active in developing trust and professional rapport with employees and team members; work as a team-leader
Have strong verbal and written communication skills; be able to communicate in a clear, constructive, and professional manner
