THE OPPORTUNITY
Plan International will implement a project to address the COVID-19 pandemic in Central Mindanao, Philippines. The project aims to contribute to the prevention and mitigation of the further spread of COVID-19 and to alleviate the human suffering of the most affected, including girls and women, and the most vulnerable sectors.
One of the project's focus is on Food Security and Livelihoods, aims to provide support to vulnerable families and strengthen their capacities so that they can generate sufficient household economic resources and food to guarantee the well-being of their homes. The Youth Economic Empowerment (YEE) Officer will provide technical support to the project and ensuring that the activities and outputs conform to the set standards and objectives of the project in relation to the log frame.
Further, as the YEE Officer:
You will be tasked to assist in the identification of training needs of project staff related to YEE and livelihood programs.
You will lead in the conduct of technical training and education related to YEE including the integration of Gender and Child Safeguarding.
You will assist in the development of a detailed implementation plan (DIP) for the project.
You will represent Plan International Philippines in coordination meetings and liaise with implementing partners of the project.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
Degree in Economics, Agribusiness, Education, Social Work, and other related courses.
Has relevant training on tech-vocational learning, participatory research, and monitoring & evaluation methods, project proposal development, micro-enterprise development.
Minimum of five years' experience in development work and three years' experience in implementing youth employment or related programs, entrepreneurship and livelihood, technical research on emergency food security and livelihood and value chain analysis, planning, developing, and managing community development work-related projects.
