Description
Voice Tools Engineer
Location: Taguig City - remote until further notice
The Voice Tools Engineer is responsible for NICE inContact's public and private voice tools and security. This position collaborates with business units within the company to set and ensure implementation and education of voice tools best practices. The Voice Tools Engineer will work with NICE inContact's various voice tools located in NICE inContact's private cloud environments, AWS, GCP and other cloud providers. The Voice Tools Engineer will provide education to other teams on use of different voice tools. The Voice Tools Engineer may help set the strategy and standards for the Voice Tools, ensure other engineers follow and adhere to these methodologies within the business. This position may develop detailed implementation/project plans for Voice Tools installations including space, hardware, OS and cabling requirements. This position actively seeks to learn and evaluate emerging technologies, collaborating with other business units within the company to implement changes that will provide advantage in voice tools, optimization, alerts, quality monitoring, baselining and other benefits.
Major Functions/Responsibility
Act as an internal consultant role across multiple business units, representing the Voice Tools team
Perform routine maintenance and grooming of voice tools infrastructure and collaborates with all aspects of the organization to resolve issues.
Be an escalation point for help in deep analysis and problem solving when needed
Develop real-time and near-real-time alerts, proactive alerts, baseline trending, external baseline monitor and alerting.
Communicate detailed technical information in both written and verbal form across a wide range of audiences, including business stakeholders, users, developers, project management, and other engineers.
Collaborate with colleagues, customers, vendors, and other parties to understand and develop voice tools solutions.
Participate in the evaluation and/or selection of solutions or products, including requirements definition, vendor and product evaluations.
Act as a local expert for areas of domain expertise.
Communicate and present in an effective and professional way up to EC level at NICE inContact and customers.
Perform other reasonable, related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.​
Provide Voice tools trainings and demo for other teams.
Required Education, Experience, and Specific Job-Related Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience​
Strong knowledge and experience with voice technologies, voice tools and applications such as: Sonus, Broadsoft, Counterpath, Acme, Audio Codes, Empirix, Ribbon Protect, SIP, RTP, SBCs, WebRTC and other related voice technologies, tools and applications.
Advanced knowledge in all aspects of voice and voice tools including but not limited to VoIP, PSTN, PRI, T1, T3, DS3, network protocols and transports, probes, taps, capture devices and many others. This position provides training to other team members, including mentoring other engineers.
5+ years' experience in telecommunications and or networking
T1, DS3, OC3, OC12 install and test experience
Advanced knowledge in Telecommunications and or networking troubleshooting tools such as Empirix, TestRTC, Ribbon Protect, OVOC and NETSCOUT.
Telecommunication switch/PBX programming
3+ years of experience with VOIP/SIP/WebRTC
Knowledge of Voice solutions and Various Voice tools such as: Sonus, Lucent, Acme Packet, Cisco, Edgewater, Broadsoft, Audio Codes, Empirix, TestRTC, Ribbon Protect and Netscore.
Knowledge of Windows OS and computer architecture
Command level knowledge of UNIX & Linux OS and architecture
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Routers, Switches, Hubs, Firewalls, Domains, DNS, DHCP, and Subnet
Experience with private and public cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, GCP
Help Desk or Technical Customer support
Advanced knowledge at MS Excel
Intermediate Visio skills
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of SBCs and their role in architecture
Experience with Network Sniffer Technologies and Capture Tools
Experience with Network Monitoring/Management systems
Experience Preferred:
UNIX & Linux Administration
Knowledge with MS Office
Knowledge of Polycom systems
Metric and formula calculation
Network and Voice Baseline trending, Automation and forecasting
Ability to script or automate repetitive processes
Experience working with Vendors to resolve issues with their software
Coding/scripting Experience
Testing and performance analysis skills
Experience with services such as L2VPN, L3VPN, and VPLS
