THE ROLE
Our client's accounting and finance team is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager who will report directly to the vice president of finance and have a primary focus on the general ledger and actuals reporting. This person will join a team that includes a chief financial officer, vice president of finance, accounting manager, revenue accountant, expense accountant, billing specialist, and an accounts payable specialist.
SCHEDULE: 8 AM - 5 PM Central Daylight Time (9 PM - 6 AM Philippine Local Time), follows Philippine holidays
POSITION TYPE: Full Time
WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensure financial reporting is in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and establishes internal controls and guidelines
Lead the overall month-end close process
Serve as the subject matter expert on NetSuite and all reporting in the ledger including the trial balance, balance sheet, and income statement
Assist with month-end close by creating, analyzing, and posting standard journal entries related to payroll, commissions, goodwill, intangible assets, leases, interest, and debt, etc.
Prepare intercompany invoicing between the US and EMEA, and US and Poland, and assist in the transfer of cash for monthly funding
Prepare and review standard reconciliations for month-end, and support the review of completeness for all account reconciliations
Work closely with the vice president and director of sales on commissions
Prepare commissions using QuotaPath and be the administrator for the system
Oversee indirect taxes related to sales tax and franchise taxes
Oversee Avalara and partnership with third-party advisory partners
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal requirements
Manage annual audits by working with external auditors, the chief financial officer, and vice president of finance in leading the consolidated annual audit and statutory audits in Ireland and Poland
Present recommendations to management on short and long-term financial objectives and policies
Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration is required
5 years or more of related experience is required
Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred
Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Excellent management and supervisory skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation
Ability to function in an autonomous environment-independent worker, self-directed
