Job Summary
 
We are looking for an experienced CPA / Senior Accountant to manage financial operations within the logistics and transportation industry. The role focuses on cost control, revenue tracking, compliance, and financial reporting related to freight, warehousing, and distribution activities.
 
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
Maintain general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing
Track and analyze logistics costs (freight, fuel, warehousing, customs, delivery)
Monitor revenue recognition for shipping and logistics services
Ensure compliance with GAAP / IFRS and local tax regulations
Handle VAT, withholding taxes, customs-related charges, and statutory filings
Coordinate with operations teams on billing, AR/AP, and cost allocations
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives
Assist in internal and external audits
Improve accounting processes and internal controls
Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - not required but preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of accounting experience; logistics, shipping, or supply chain background preferred
Strong knowledge of cost accounting and revenue recognition
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
Advanced skills in MS Excel
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
Experience in freight forwarding, trucking, shipping, or warehousing accounting
Knowledge of incoterms, customs duties, freight billing, and landed cost analysis
Familiarity with multi-branch or multi-currency operations
Experience working with ERP or logistics systems
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
