As Canva continues on this exciting period of growth, there is now the need for a Senior Shared Services Accountant to help-out and take charge of the accounts payable, transactional bookkeeping and other accounting duties as part of the Share Services function in Manila, supporting Canva Global. You will have experience with accounts payable, transactional bookkeeping and accounting in a commercial environment, high attention to detail, thrive on achieving target service levels and an aptitude for using systems and technology. You will work closely to support the Sydney head office finance team, directly reporting to the Shared Services Team Lead based in the Philippines.
We're a fast-moving business so change is frequent and volumes will continue to grow, you'll be comfortable working in a hands-on environment and have excellent communication skills.

Canva's global growth and expansion are leading to ever-increasing financial complexity. We now have employees in three countries and a digital/physical presence in many, many more exposing the group to wide-ranging corporate, legal, accounting, and tax matters.
To ensure that we can continue to support the business at scale, The Finance Group is made up of a number of distinct teams each with its own separate functions - FinOps, Corporate Accounting, Tax, Planning and Reporting, Business Partners, and Strategy & Analysis which the main goal is to protect and serve.
About your role..
Transaction Matching
Primary contact responsible for timely reconciliations of Group's bank accounts with general ledger. This will involve reconciliation of critical bank accounts on a daily basis, accounts with cyclical activity on a fortnightly basis and reconciliation of low risk accounts at month end with assistance from other team members.
Communicate all receipts, payment bounce backs or irregular transactions to the relevant stakeholders on a daily basis. Reconciles all cash accounts and resolves discrepancies
Cash Monitoring and Reporting
Manages daily cash process - executes wire transfer and other funding necessary to balance a company's daily position and resolves cash issues in a timely manner.
Monitor bank account and credit card balances to ensure that sufficient funds are within the account
Daily follow up of any outstanding cash transactions or queries for resolution.
Assists with preparation of monthly reports regarding all cash accounts
General Ledger Reconciliation
Primary owner of monthly balance sheet reconciliations reports for treasury related accounts
Ensuring suspense and payment clearing bookings are resolved promptly
Other :
Maintain appropriate files, reports, documentation and data related to banks.
Assisting with any transaction or balance queries requested by auditors or the finance team.
Coordinate with Accounts Payable regarding documentation of payment requests and urgent of payments
Assistance with credit card reconciliations and policy compliance
Ad hoc activities
Assist with other ad hoc transactional and reporting activities within the shared services team

A Bachelor's/College Degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent
3-5 years knowledge and experience in transactional processing,reporting and related month-end processes
Experience with Treasury Operations (Cash Management, Reporting and Documentation) is highly preferred
Experience with NetSuite Oneworld is preferred
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
Keen eye for details and the ability to identify and correct errors in processing
Highly organised with the ability to work within set deadlines
Advanced Excel/Gsheet skills are desirable
