Job Description
The Traditional Trade Purchasing Supervisor would lead and coordinate the purchasing of live hogs, meats and poultry products from external sources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Live, meats and poultry purchasing
Prospect and connect with external sources of live hogs, meats and poultry products
Negotiates with suppliers and farms to ensure that we get quality products while ensuring costs are within budget/ target
Interdepartmental coordination
Coordination with suppliers, Pilmico supply chain and other relevant Pilmico teams in relation to purchasing and transportation of products
Monitoring of deliveries from source to Pilmico facilities
Communicate and address purchasing and transportation concerns with rdifferent stakeholders to ensure process improvement
Reporting
Leads and monitors accreditation process (sourcing and filing of farm documents)
Initiates and schedules meetings with farms and Pilmico team for purchasing discussions
Creates reports an updates the team on live hogs, meats and poultry products purchases
Follow through on payment and transaction closure
Qualifications
Educational Requirement:
Bachelors Degree holder
Critical Skills Required:
Experience in purchasing in the food and agriculture sector
Has demonstrated strong interdepartmental coordination in past work
Good negotiation and communication skills
Knowledgeable in sea and land transportation of agriculture products
Others:
Live hogs, meats and poultry purchasing experience is preferred
Importation experience of frozen meat and poultry products is preferred
