Summary: Trader Trainees are employed by sister company- Mida Trade Ventures (MTV) with the aim of exposing potential candidates to all areas of MTV's activities. After about 2 years of exposure, candidates will be given the opportunity to specialize in their preferred field (within operational requirements).
Job Duties and Responsibilities (To be divided into 2 main fields):
Logistics
Responsible for managing relationships with clients, both suppliers and buyers
Maintaining regular correspondence with clients in accordance with the workflow that will be provided
Mastering cargo workflow to ensure transactions take place smoothly
Familiarization to MTV's business practices and procedures
Responsible for coordinating work between the logistics and QC department during inspection times.
Filing of documented information
Preparation of contracts for traders
Monitoring and executing logistics for all cargoes assigned
Assisting the Accounting Department on payment collection
Quality Control
Candidates may be sent out into the field to learn more about suppliers and products. This might include overseas travel (upon completion of probation period)
Familiarization with the products that MTV trades and specializes in i.e. Shrimp, Octopus, Crab, Fish etc. The quality, sourcing, processing & sales of these items
Understand and build rapport with suppliers in order to facilitate smooth work relationships
Regular inspections of cargoes booked by traders
When required, product production monitoring in order to ensure processed are complied with
Study and understand seafood production
Trading (After completion of first 2 departments)
Study & development of markets and potential markets in order to assist traders in sales
Analysis of market reports in order to study market trends, strengths and weaknesses
When candidate is deemed ready, they may be assigned a small sales account in order to see how they perform. Good performance will result in increased responsibilities and corresponding renumeration.
Graduate of any 4-year Business course
Strong analytical and planning skills
Organized and detailed
Team Player
Well-spoken and written in English. Must be able to communicate with the international clientele of MTV.
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong problem-solving skills. Flexible and willing to think outside the box.
Willing to be assigned in Malate, Manila
Willing to travel on short notice and for extended periods..

We vigilantly protect our market share and stock as many as 200 different varieties of seafood. We also ensure a consistent supply to our clients. Our staff has been certified by the Aquaculture Certification Council, the certification arm for Best Agricultural Practices, to certify that facilities such as hatchery, farm and processing plants abide with Best Aquaculture practices. This includes aspects of responsible sustainable aquaculture. We attend industry trade shows and conferences in Asia, Europe and North America; and visit various seafood plants, restaurants and hyper marts in these regions to keep us current. Mida products are best quality products. We buy directly from producers and stock enough volume to ensure that our prices are competitive and stable. Our deliveries are prompt, and done in reefer vans which maintain products at a temperature of -15 degrees C during delivery. Mida Food products are fresh frozen in nitrogen, contact plate, or blast freezers at temperatures of at most -45 degrees Celsius, and only in plants certified to export to the US, Japan and Europe.Mida Trade was established to service US importers, processors and end users of seafood who wanted to import frozen seafood products from the Far East. Mida Trade also provided assistance to processor-exporters of seafood in the Far East who wanted to expand their markets outside of Japan. Since then Mida has expanded its range of business to include Europe, Australia, and other markets in Asia.
