JOB SUMMARY
Manages process improvement and technical projects while protecting the environment and safety
Works with customers, other departments and sections to plan and implement technical projects and improvements in order to meet production needs
Provides technical support and troubleshoots processes to keep the plant running efficiently and cost-effectively.
Provides technical support to customers if necessary.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Designs, supervises and conducts experiments related to technical projects
Supervises commissioning of equipment or systems handled by the section
Prepares technical reports as needed by his superiors
Monitors and tracks progress of technical projects, issues and concerns
Manages and maintains Technical pilot plant and equipment
Works in harmony with customer to immediately address customer concerns
Conducts process audits
Ensures Specifications Manual is maintained and updated
Interfaces with QA Section for flexibility of QA/Technical Department operations
Capable of assuming roles of QA supervisor in his absence
Performs other tasks that will be required by his superiors
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or BS Chemical Engineering - Licensed
At least 3 years of experience in a technical/R&D role
Experience in project management
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Above average presentation and communication skills
Adept with process engineering tools such as SPC, Lean Management, and Six (6) Sigma
Knowledge in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001
