Job Summary
The Tech Security Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and integrity of our organization's information technology systems and data. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the specialist will implement, monitor, and enhance security measures to safeguard against cyber threats and vulnerabilities. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of IT security best practices, a proactive mindset, and the ability to adapt to emerging cybersecurity challenges.
 
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage security measures and controls to protect the organization's information technology systems, networks, and data assets.
Monitor systems for security breaches, unauthorized access, and anomalies, promptly taking appropriate action to mitigate risks.
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses in infrastructure and applications.
Develop and maintain incident response plans, ensuring swift and effective response to security incidents, breaches, or data breaches.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Evaluate and recommend security solutions, technologies, and tools to enhance the organization's overall cybersecurity posture.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging threats, and cybersecurity best practices to adapt security strategies accordingly.
Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees about security policies, procedures, and safe computing practices.
Investigate security breaches and incidents, analyzing root causes and proposing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure system resilience in the face of disruptions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven work experience as a Security Specialist or similar role in the field of cybersecurity.
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, protocols, and technologies.
Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, encryption tools, and vulnerability assessment tools.
Familiarity with network architecture, operating systems, and cloud computing environments.
Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to dynamic security challenges.
