Positions in this function are involved in the definition, management, and implementation of technology focused projects/programs. Do not use this function is not used for project/program management in non-technology roles. Positions are business specialists and technology generalists that manage, direct and interface with business clients.
Projects are more stand-alone than programs; program management is typically the orchestration of several related projects. At entry level individual contributor roles, the primary focus will be project management. As one advances through the career path, their focus may be project or program focused, depending on business need
Primary Responsibilities:
Defining work strategies, aligning these with resources and desired client outcomes, and overseeing planning and execution of the work
Ensuring technology solutions are managed to support business strategies, often working with senior management
Directing the integration of technical aspects of all related projects/programs
Conducting analyses, needs assessments, and cost/benefit assessments and helping to broker other technology services.
Monitoring financials to ensure budget compliance.
Release management
Overall accountability for project execution for assigned projects within Optum IT and for external customer
Drive deliverables to meet project deadlines / milestones
Track and update project plans and documentation
Identify and report issues with the project. Mitigate identified issues
Engage resources (management, service vendors, business segment leads, etc.) for project assignments and manage key stakeholders
Single point of contact for all project IT vendors/providers
Manage all IT aspects of Corporate Real Estate Projects. Responsible for voice, data, cable infrastructure - or any other technology issue related to infra projects
Work with Optum IT Sales team & Optum IT external project delivery team to deploy enterprise networks and acquisition assimilation
Determine requirements through interface with customer, corporate real estate and adherence to corporate standards
Create and submit engagement documentation for voice/data network, cabling, and server infrastructure
Interface with construction trades as necessary to ensure server room/data center to Optum IT design standards
Document weekly status reports including project progress, key milestones, and tasks accomplished, etc. Host weekly status call with project team
Work within UnitedHealth Group IT processes for equipment and services procurement
Perform Optum IT's change management procedures to create, submit, and coordinate various change requests associated with Optum IT Infrastructure current and future projects. Projects based out of Optum IT facility and outside UHG facility anywhere in India/Abroad
Work with Optum IT data/voice/security/server engineers to determine equipment and circuit equipment specifications
Work with supply chain management for equipment and circuit orders.
Coordinate voice/data/security network equipment, servers, printers, and cable installation to ensure project deadlines are met, adhering to published lead times and standards
Coordinate and consolidate various remote site activities, i.e. site surveys, vendor scheduling, site contact reviews, and follow-up coordination for installation of infrastructure related activities (racks, power, cabling, circuits, etc)
Document and validate operational readiness hand-off to monitoring and management
Basic, structured, standard approach to work

Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
IT Proj Analyst do not require strong technical skills, as the emphasis is very much on management, organizational and people skills
A basic knowledge and experienced in the entire IT Infrastructure field that is describe below:Desktops, Laptops, and any workstation related technical skills
Network and its components such as Firewalls, Routers, Switches, MPLS, Cabling, etc.
Voice Infrastructure such as Cisco, Avaya telephony system, PRI lines, etc.
Data Storage (Server related technical skills) and Cloud Computing
IT Service Management (Incident Management, Change Management, and others)
IT Asset Management (Hardware, Software), Procurement, and Vendor Management
IT Security relevant compliance and governance processes and its certifications
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
Excellent analytical and observation skills
Ability to keep up with latest developments in the field and upgrade IT infrastructure
Excellent planning and organization ability. Including managing transition projects; its expansions, including the ramp-up and ramp-down
Excellent time management skills and understanding the value of a baseline
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
