Summary
First level manager responsible for the day-to-day management of an Account Maintenance team. Conducts performance management and career development processes. The Account Maintenance team processes maintenance activities within set procedures and guidelines prescribed.
Ensures safekeeping of all original trust documents, wills, sundries and family business files.
Organizes the work of the team and assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work.
Facilitate discussions and reach decisions; cultivating strong working relationships with team, partner groups and client (if applicable).
Conduct performance management and career development discussions, make staffing and disciplinary decisions and provide regular feedback/coaching to employees.
Ensure adequate training for staff, monitor operations and service level standards.
Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact
May have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior Management
Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level employees
Provides input and support to budget management process
Qualifications
A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is/ preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
In-depth Functional / Industry Knowledge is required.
Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
Technical background in area of expertise, broader knowledge of the business/industry and versed on the downstream operational teams are beneficial to effectively manage the team.
Excellent problem solving skills with ability to clarify the nature of a problem, evaluate alternative, propose viable solutions and determine the outcome of the various options.
Leadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff.
Internal candidates must meet the IJP eligibility requirements of Northern Trust
