Position Summary:
The Tax and Treasury Admin role will be critical to the success of the Tax and Treasury Departments and will support the rapid growth of our business. Role will support all areas of income and sales/use taxation as well as Treasury. Person will work together with the Lead Accountant - Indirect Tax to prepare U.S. sales tax data for sales tax return filings. Prepares and completes tax returns and reports involved with federal, state, local, property, sales, and other tax liabilities. Responsible for meeting all required deadlines. Maintains current knowledge of all tax laws affecting the company. Reviews proposals for tax implications and recommends actions that meet the business plans while managing the tax liability. Assists in tax audits. May be involved with tax implications of mergers and acquisitions. Part of the role will also support function pertaining to Treasury and Cash Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Extract sales tax data from sales tax system
Gather, validate, and prepare transaction documentation on monthly basis for third party tax preparer
Reconciliation of accounts from general ledger to tax system in a timely manner for month-end closing process
Communicate unreconciled transactions and discrepancies internally for further support or remediation
Run monthly GL reports for tax/treasury team
Preparation of journal entries
Perform monthly finance closing activities
Perform data entry associated with tax/treasury department duties
Compile and maintain a variety of files and records for the department
Receives general oversight and guidance on approaches to compete project related tasks
Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
Develops solutions to a variety of problems
Builds productive internal/external working relationships
Additional tax, treasury and admin support duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience in Finance and Accounting.
Solid background in Accounting activities
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
Ability to work well independently and part of a team
Have a strong work ethic and eye for detail
Ability to assist or fill in when needed in other areas of the tax/treasury department
Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic high-performance team environment
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Ability to work under pressure of deadlines
Ability to be flexible and adaptable
Effective communication and research skills
Ability to self-manage with little instruction
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Oracle or other large ERPs preferred
2 years of U.S. sales tax experience preferred
