Job Description
As a Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for a range of crucial tasks to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Your duties will include the meticulous preparation of work papers and the reconciliation of financial statements, taking them to the final stage. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in the preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, and various lodgements for a diverse client base, encompassing companies, partnerships, trusts, and a wide array of individual businesses.
What do you need to succeed
XERO, MYOB, Reckon experience
Accounting degree or a related degree with a major in accounting.
Completed or working towards completion of CA / CPA.
At least 3-4 years accounting &; taxation experiences within New Zealand
Basic understanding of New Zealand and/or taxation legislation, including but not limited to GST, FBT, Companies Act
Ability to be able to identify issues and communicate effectively and efficiently
Experience with MYOB, Xero, Reckon, Quickbooks, Excel
Experience with Reckon APS program (desirable)
Proficient English writing and verbal skills
Excellent communication skills with strong relationship and stakeholder management
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize your workload
Collaborative, team player who understands the importance of building strong internal relationships across the wider clients business.
Ability to meet productivity and turnaround metrics

Demonstrate tax knowledge, including the preparation of tax returns, activity statements, and a deep understanding of the latest New Zealand tax rules.
Prepare work papers and reconcile them to the financial statement stage.
Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, and other lodgements for various entities, including companies, partnerships, trusts, and individual businesses.
Assist in general bookkeeping duties.
Support clients in tax planning, GST compliance, and bookkeeping needs.
Participate in business advisory projects, including tasks such as creating budgets, forecasting cashflows, and generating management reports.
Maintain all documentation, including work papers and client files, in accordance with clients Group compliance requirements.
