Octal Philippines Inc. is a dynamic IT solutions company seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our partner's team as a System Integration Engineer. As a System Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating various hardware and software components to create cohesive systems that meet the needs of our clients. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Install and configure firewalls and/or load balancers.
Install and configure applications in UNIX or Linux environment.
Install and configure third party middleware software, if necessary.
Perform basic, integration, alarm, and relevant testing to ensure compliance of the system to client requirements.
Perform research and investigation on related systems/ products.
Create test specifications, when needed.
Create operations manual, when needed.
Review the plans and design to identify weak spots and complexities that can impact quality and reliability of a project.
Prepare timely and comprehensive reports about required modifications, deficiencies, and new procedures.
Participate in understanding client's requirements.
Troubleshoot issues related to external interface of the client and resolve problems of the system.
Assist clients in understanding new services as well as on their Operations and Management (O&M) functions.
Travel on site for Pre-Sales activities and/or project implementation, when needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in IT or Engineering (Computer/ Electronics and Communications/ Electrical)
Must have at least three to five years related work experience in Systems Integration.
Must be knowledgeable in Unix or Linux scripting.
Must be knowledgeable in scripting language (ex: python, bash).
Must have basic knowledge in SNMP, DNS, DHCP, and/or SMTP.
Must have knowledge and experience in Network design.
Must have knowledge and experience in configuring switches and routers.
Knowledge in Firewalls and Load Balancer is an advantage.
Knowledgeable in the latest virtualization and networking technology.
Knowledge of either Cisco and/or Juniper devices.
Knowledge of Fortinet or similar FW is an advantage.
Knowledge of Cloud Computing platforms (ex: AWS or Azure) is an advantage.
Knowledge of Container Orchestration (ex: Kubernetes) is an advantage.
Knowledge of Automation Tool (ex: Ansible) is an advantage.
Certification (Advantage): CISCO, Juniper, AWS or Azure
Background or knowledge of Nihongo is an advantage.
Knowledgeable in MS Office tools (ex: Excel, PowerPoint)
Willing to travel to Japan and/or other countries.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
