Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Section Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the efficiency of the section by implementing SOPs and programs including maintenance of facilities in order to achieve production target volume and quality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Section Operation
Implements, monitors and ensures compliance of approved production SOPs by coordinating and collaborating with concerned teams and recommends improvements to enhance overall operations performance when necessary.
Analyzes and evaluates production reports generated by swine operations system and discusses findings, deviations and recommended action plans during weekly production meeting.
Conducts regular weekly meetings with subordinates to discuss section's performance, strategies for improvement and action plans.
Monitors and ensures that all lactation operational equipments and facilities are well-maintained on a daily basis by coordinating with concerned teams.
Upgrades knowledge and skills on animal husbandry and swine operations technology by keeping up to date on the latest trends.
Coordinates with other section supervisors to ensure seamless integration of the breeding processes to the entire swine production flow.
Inventory and Recording Management
Ensures and monitors the daily inventory of pigs, feeds and supplies of the section and prepares monthly inventory report accordingly.
Planning and Forecasting
Prepares budget and ensures unit costs are within budget limit
Prepares weaning projections as guidelines for concerned sections within the department
People Development
Supervises, monitors and evaluates the performance of direct subordinates.
Builds IDP and provides intervention for the development and growth of direct subordinates.
Monitors the services of third party manpower service provider in the lactation section.
Other Tasks
Participates in all company initiated programs and activities
Appointed membership to committees whenever necessary
Participates in the expansion projects and/or projects improvements of the swine division as may be assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Must have a degree in Animal Science, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine and other related courses
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Preferably 3 years work experience in a 500-sow level swine operation as a supervisor.
