STRUCTURAL STEEL DETAILER
 
We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Detailer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing detailed 3D models and drawings of structural steel components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects within the structural steel fabrication sector in Western Australia.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop accurate 3D models of structural steel components using Advance Steel and Tekla software from Design Drawings and tracing Point cloud of Site Scan data.
Perform thorough checks of 3D models to ensure compliance with design standards and constructability.
Extract detailed shop drawings, NC data, DXF files, and material/bolt lists from 3D models.
Create precise 2D drawings, including individual part details, assembly drawings, and marking plans.
Check 2D drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to relevant standards.
Collaborate with project engineers, fabricators, and other stakeholders to resolve design and fabrication issues effectively.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Proficiency or experience in Australian Standards relevant to structural steel detailing and fabrication.
Hands-on experience with Autodesk Advance Steel is a MUST. Tekla and iConstruct experience highly regarded.
Strong ability to read, interpret, and liaise with engineering and architectural drawings.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in structural, mechanical, or piping design and drafting.
Skilled in material take-offs, estimating quantities, and understanding fabrication requirements.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, and other 3D modeling software.
High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset.
