THE ROLE
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for processing the disbursements of supplier invoices approved for payment and reimbursements. He/she is also responsible for processing the statutory compliance requirements. The role which is under the Finance Team will support US and Philippine entities and report to the Corporate Controller.
SCHEDULE: 6 AM - 3 PM Philippine Local Time, follows Philippine holidays

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Handle the following general accounting functions:
Prepare journal entries and review transactions of the assigned accounts
Prepare reconciliation schedules and resolve open items before the next month-end close
Manage accounting records and prepare analysis as required by the management
Handle the following accounts payable functions:
Review payment vouchers for accuracy and track transactions related to billable to the client
Process disbursements and reimbursements
Prepare disbursement summary for online approval of the President of the Philippine entity
Handle the following treasury functions:
Process bank upload per payroll and disbursements cycle
Manage bank accounts used for disbursements - Peso Savings and USD accounts
Coordinate with banks for remittances and wire transfer concerns
Handle the following compliance reporting functions:
Manage local tax filing requirements (monthly, quarterly, and annual) with local tax agencies ensuring adherence to local statutory deadlines
Manage records of mandatory contributions and ensure timely submission of contributions and related documentation to government agencies
Work with the Human Resources Team to manage employee requests related to contributions and government filings for claims and benefits
QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
Certified Public Accountant is preferred
4 years of experience handling accounts payable and statutory compliance with a headcount of at least 500 employees
Experience in coordination with local government agencies both in the Philippines and the United States
1-2 years of experience in general accounting and treasury is preferred
Excellent accounting software user, preference given to those with experience in SAGE or QuickBooks
Experience in handling HRIS system
Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft 365 applications with advanced Excel skills
Experience in a multi-client environment
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication
Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation
Ability to work independently and to function in an autonomous environment-independent worker, self-directed
