Purpose
Under general supervision, develops and executes manual and test automation scripts for web-based cloud applications, design and develop framework and automated test scripts to ensure that the system meets the defined acceptance criteria and will operate as expected when released into a production environment. Work closely with software engineers, product owners, and the test team to review requirements, execute automated tests, report defects, and maintain required documentation.
Responsibilities
Develops and maintains a testing framework
Development and execution of a suite of functional automated tests to validate both UI and back-end processing systems
Develops a library of automated regression tests
Provides traceability and reporting for automation tests
Collaborates with developers, BA and the QA team to understand and analyze requirements for testability
Creates, updates, and maintains automated tests to run after each daily deployment (smoke tests)
Troubleshoots issues found during automated test script execution
Creates bugs in defect management tool
Participates in daily stand ups as part of an agile team
Identifies areas for automation or other process improvements
Performs manual exploratory, regression and smoke testing when needed
Design, builds, executes, and maintains automated test suites, procedures and test cases
Experience mentoring and training other QA team members on running automation test cases on framework
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong data analysis or data querying skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experience working in Agile development
Experience with Azure DevOps, and issue tracking software
Experience in UI -based and API test automation
Experience with smoke, functional, non-functional, regression and integration testing
Hands on Experience with test automation tools ex: Selenium, Cucumber
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in computer science preferred; or equivalent combination of education and training
With a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in IT industry in respective field of work
Strong Experience in creating frameworks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong data analysis or data querying skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experience working in Agile development
Collaborates with team members and reports status to QA manager
Self-starter who stays current with QA trends, tools, standards, and processes
Experience with Azure DevOps, test management software and issue tracking software
Experience in UI device/browser-based test automation
Experience with smoke, functional, non-functional, regression and integration testing
Knowledge of QA methodologies and concepts
Knowledge of system and software development lifecycle
Ability to establish priorities, work independently with minimal supervision
Experience with variety of automation tools
Hands on work experience in scripting languages such as Java Script
