Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
A Network Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. A Network Engineer performs a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets company and user satisfaction. A Network Engineer also provides direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM, etc.)
• Configure and setup Cisco Firewalls, VPN Concentrators and Security appliances for access to vital business applications
• Design, setup and configure complex switching environments
• Design, setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications
• Maintain a thorough understanding of Local Area Networking
• Assist in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, Ether-Channel (Bonding), etc.
• Configuring and installing client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems.
• Maintaining multi-site network operations and software applications, operating systems, and regular maintenance with both private and public facilities
• Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
• Responding to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors etc. to provide technical assistance and support
• Supervising the administration of systems and servers related network to ensure availability of services to authorized users.
• Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
• Any other related duties as assigned by management
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve business applications and systems performance, connectivity, and related problems.
Provide escalated technical analysis to clients to include general troubleshooting, logging, analysis, and various system settings.
Assist other departments with technical assistance and information as needed.
Contribute to the career development of junior staff through mentoring and training.
Provide support on holidays and afterhours as needed.
Participate in an afterhours call rotation for network and voice related support. The call rotation period is seven (7) days and frequency are based on current staff numbers.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
 
Technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills required
Current CCNA and/or CCDA certification
Cisco Unified Communication Manager configuration and infrastructure a plus
Windows Server experience: 2003 & 2008 and above; Exchange and/or SQL experience is preferred.
Microsoft Office 365 Administration.
Application delivery frameworks including, but not limited to, Remote Desktop Services, RemoteApp, and VDI.
Web server software including, but not limited to, Microsoft IIS, Apache, Tomcat, and content systems like WordPress.
Familiarity with line of business applications.
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), Transport Layer Security (TLS), and Certificate Authorities (CA).
Cloud enabled backup and recovery technologies, such as StorageCraft Shadow Protect and Veeam Backup+Recovery.
Disaster recovery strategy, testing, and troubleshooting.
Must pass annual Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance certification.
Additional certifications required by management
Knowledge of VoIP implementation and support
Maintain network security through proper configuration of VPN and Firewalls
Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite, and friendly manner, both written and verbal
Strong English Communication skills both written and verbal
SUMMARY:
Position Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00PM - 5:00AM PHT (8:00AM to 5:00PM EST)
Location: Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, Philippines
Position Type: Full Time Employee
Salary: To be determined based on qualification associated with job role
Work set-up: Temporary WFH for Cebu-based new hires (subject to change to Hybrid)
