Summary:
As a member of our Internal Audit team, the ideal candidate will effectively support our rapidly growing company to maintain industry leadership. The candidate should have a solid understanding of US generally accepted accounting principles, COSO principles of internal control and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The candidate should have the ability to document control findings and recommendations. The candidate must be a team player, have a positive "can do" attitude, and the willingness to learn new concepts. The candidate should be a self-starter, be comfortable with ambiguity and maintain a current knowledge base of accounting and audit industry practices and to ensure best practices are always considered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with executing compliance and operational audits in accordance with the annual audit plan.
Document and test internal controls surrounding transaction cycles to ensure compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
Prepare work papers to ensure compliance with established standards and the existence of adequate supporting documentation for the audit work completed.
Conduct meetings with management upon commencement and completion of the audit to discuss scope and significant audit issues. Actively participate and add value in the assessing the adequacy of management responses and corrective actions implemented.
Assist in developing recommendations for management to improve the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of controls and operations.
Develop effective relationships with management and promote internal audit awareness throughout the organization.
Assist external auditors in completion of interim and year-end SOX controls and financial audit testing.
Assists in internal ethics and fraud investigations and ad-hoc projects when needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
2-4 years of recent internal and/or external audit experience with a fast-paced public global company and/or a "Big 4" or mid-tier firm
Strong written/verbal communication skills and computer skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Specific knowledge of audit requirements and the regulatory requirements related to Sarbanes-Oxley
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous internal audit experience for a fast-paced global company
Public accounting audit experience with a "Big 4" or mid-tier firm
Working towards a CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), and/or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certifications a plus
Specific knowledge/experience with audit of healthcare regulations a plus
Exceptional prioritization, organization, and time-management skills to consistently meet deadlines with quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Independent and adaptable team player with strong project management skills to comfortably lead and conduct multiple significant projects and tasks with quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Strong critical thinking with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Self-motivated, positive, and professional attitude.
Delivers high-quality work products (form and substance) including the ability to prepare written documents (e.g., work papers, PowerPoint presentations, audit reports, etc.) that clearly lay out key messages
Travel Required:
Up to 25%
Language Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
