SOURCING SPECIALIST
 
The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers (local and international) to ensure the company has access to cost-effective, high-quality, and reliable materials, products, and services. This role focuses on strategic procurement, supplier relationship management, and continuous cost optimization to support the organization's supply chain and business objectives.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Supplier Management & Development
Identify, research, and qualify new suppliers locally and globally.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and conditions with vendors.
Evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, delivery, and compliance.
Develop and maintain long-term partnerships with key suppliers.
Procurement & Sourcing
Conduct market research to identify sourcing opportunities and trends.
Prepare and analyze RFQs/RFPs (Request for Quotation/Proposal) from vendors.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
Optimize sourcing strategies to reduce costs without compromising quality.
Cost & Risk Management
Monitor and manage supplier risks including delivery delays, price volatility, and compliance risks.
Analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) and develop cost-saving initiatives.
Benchmark suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with operations, production, logistics, and finance teams to align sourcing with business needs.
Support new product development by sourcing raw materials and components.
Assist in resolving supplier-related issues in collaboration with quality and logistics teams.
Qualifications & Skills
 
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or related field.
2-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain (international sourcing preferred).
Skills
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
Knowledge of procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa) is an advantage.
Analytical skills with the ability to assess supplier capabilities and risks.
Understanding of global trade, import/export regulations, and logistics.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Cost savings achieved through sourcing initiatives.
Supplier on-time delivery performance.
Supplier quality performance (defect/rejection rates).
Number of new qualified suppliers developed.
Contract compliance rate.
