Job Description
The Software QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of products that are integral to the functionality of our client's Consumer and Payment Applications. These include Web Applications, Web Services, and Mobile Applications that are required for messaging, deposit, and telecom systems as well as integrations with applications across the product portfolio. The Software QA Engineer will evaluate and test software programs by developing and executing automated test scripts (and some manual) to verify programs' functions according to specifications.
Responsibilities:
-Design, develop and execute both automated and manual test scripts from the ground up.
-Identifies, analyzes, and documents defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies.
-Creates software components to drive automated testing and expandable in structure using Selenium (Java) based automation framework.
-Creates output/reports effectively and accurately documents all automated testing results.
-Manages the continuous development of the QA Team's standard practices and procedures.
-Proactively responds to inquiries from users and technical support.
-Utilize tools to test products and services that implement SOAP and REST XML formats.
-Create test plans and test cases from requirement documentation using TestRail.
-Track defects and issues using JIRA; keep product and test documentation updated in Confluence.
-Utilize SQL to effectively verify the results of testing.
-Use effective communication flow among internal team members.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree (BS) in Computer Science, Engineering.
-A minimum of 2 years of experience using Java, Python, Object-Oriented, JavaScript, Ruby, and RESTful APIs. Also experienced in Jira, TestRail, and Selenium or equivalent test management and automation tools.
-Possesses a solid understanding of development and quality assurance testing methodologies including functional and regression, implementing accuracy and thoroughness in all work products.
-Demonstrated experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment.
-Ability to work successfully in a team environment as well as working independently and deliver project deliverables on time.
-Ability to work outside of normal business hours.
-Experience with test automation tools, technologies, and test script development practices.
-Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, support teams, clients, customers, and the public.
